About David
Founder and lead teacher, David Weinberg has a Masters in Education and over 18 years of teaching experience combined in Public Elementary Schools, Montessori and Waldorf focused preschools in Portland, Oregon – all the while, being a parent and maintaining his intermedia creative practice as an artist, performer, and musician. He earned his Bachelor's Degree from Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington, where he focused on New Media, Cybernetics, and Poetry. With Olympia as his hometown, his artistic voice was and continues to be deeply embedded within the region's originating DIY, noise, experimental, and feminist punk/riot grrrl subcultures.
From 2009– 2011, David also was the co-founder and co-teacher of Imagimusic, an extracurricular after-school program at Sabin Elementary School via the SUN Community program. This after-school program explored the collaborative processes of music production and fostered an appreciation of abstract sound through play.
David is neurodivergent, though prefers the term eccentric, and is constantly enriching himself with DIY pursuits in vocal acting, sound, television, radio and podcast production. His intellectual interests include subjects of philosophy, linguistics, contemporary poetry, and ethnomusicology. In 2025, David took a songwriting class with esteemed musician, Brian Eno. In all his endeavors, he tries to echo the ethos of artist Harry Smith, who held that "everything goes with everything".
