Q: What ages do you serve?
A: We focus on supporting tiny dreamers to emerging young artists: Ages 0–18, and their families. Our programming scales to your child’s growth and curiosity.
Q: Do kids need prior experience?
A: None! Whether they’ve never touched an instrument or they’re already composing operas in their sleep, they’re welcome.
Q: What kind of music do you teach?
A: All kinds. Really. We don’t stick to a script—students explore classical foundations and write songs about their favorite pets, build sonic sculptures, jam in experimental ensembles, or remix pop songs.
Q: What’s the class structure?
A: Classes are grouped by age and interest. We blend skill-building (like rhythm, melody, ear training) with freeform exploration. Students co-create their learning path with guidance from expert educators.
Q: How is NSS different from other music schools?
A: No cookie cutters here! We integrate instrument-making, storytelling, theatrical performance, ensemble play, deep listening, and recording arts—all while nurturing creativity, community, and curiosity.
Q: What’s the vibe?
A: Playful but intentional. Structured but child-led. Joyful, experimental, and deeply rooted in respect for each child’s voice.
Q: Do you offer performances?
A: Yes! Regular student showcases, seasonal Arkestra concerts, and family shares. Performances are a celebration, not a test.
Q: How do I sign up?
A: Visit our Participate Page to learn more. Our NOISE IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD Summer Park programs are FREE with open capacity, however our workshop spots fill quickly!
